Let There Be Light £500 Blogger Photography Competition

Let There Be Light Photography Competition

If you’re a budding photographer (or even an established one), then you may want to take note of this recent competition from the great folks over at Urban Cottage Industries.

They’re giving away £500 worth of Amazon vouchers to spend on photography equipment for the winner, with five runner-ups receiving a personalized moleskine notepad.

With the cost of a starter DSLR running to at least £300 these days and with lenses, flashes and tripods costing even more on top, then £500 is definitely nothing to sneeze at. In fact, it could set you up quite nicely with a great photography kit, or that lens you’ve had your eye on for ages but couldn’t quite justify the cost…

The rules are fairly simple, although you do need to have a blog to participate.

Simply upload a blog post that features two photographs – one showcasing natural light and one showcasing artificial light – and a followed link to http://www.urbancottageindustries.com/

Then register your entry by either emailing urbancottageindustries@yoma.co.uk (and include a link to your blog post, as well as your name and email address) or sending out a tweet, tagging @urbancottageind and using the hashtag #LetThereBeLight.

That’s it!

You can find all of the full T&Cs here.

Yours truly is a judge in the competition and I’m really excited about seeing all of the wonderful and creative entries.

To get you started, here are two photos I’ve taken. The first one showcases the artificial lights of the Stuttgart Beer Festival. The second showcases the natural sunlight in the Lake District.

Good luck to all and happy snapping!
