Edinburgh At Christmas

edinburgh christmas

Never in my wildest imagination did I think I would be in Edinburgh at Christmas time this year.

I may have mentioned my love of Manchester Christmas Markets before (and will be heading there soon to enjoy them again this year! Whoopee!) but until this year, I had never experienced a Christmas Market in any other city.

So of course I was excited to discover that Edinburgh had their own version of a Christmas Market, albeit smaller than the Manchester one, but with the addition of a mini fairground.

Not that I care about rides; it’s all about the mulled wine for me. And the bratwursts.

With the backdrop of the dramatic castle rising above the city, Edinburgh  is a picturesque city, especially at this time of year, and if it happens to be snowing (which it did for a short time one evening while we were there) it makes for a wonderfully Christmassy experience.

I’m not sure whether these photos will do the city justice, but I hope they come close.
